Meet Keyona Dunham, she serves with Birmingham Engaging in STEM AmeriCorps-BETA. What motivated you to join AmeriCorps? I was motivated to join because I will get the opportunity to motivate kids and help them to strive for great things, as well as, gain experience in the field of teaching. What motivated me to join AmeriCorps was that each member gives back to their community in their own unique way. I was motivated to join AmeriCorps, by my mother, Dr. Chandra Blackmon, who is an elementary school principal, because she knew my dream was to make a difference in the community through improving the lives of children and I really enjoyed working with children the last 8 years in the private sector.
