​The Governor's Office of Volunteer Services is the Alabama State Service Commission, and our mission is to increase an ethic of service and volunteerism in the State of Alabama, strengthen the capacity of Alabama's faith and community-based organizations and promote collaboration among individuals and organizations striving to meet some of the greatest needs in Alabama. We are responsible for administering and supporting AmeriCorps programs throughout the state and serve as the state's lead agency for Volunteers and Donation Management.

Volunteer Engagement and Communications Director GOVS is seeking a highly self-motivated, resourceful, and organized self-starter. This position requires high-level organizational skills, the ability to set goals and priorities and work well in a team environment. This is a management position responsible for developing, promoting, and evaluating activities to increase volunteer engagement and lead the communications effort of the agency. Program Officer This position will be responsible for providing training and technical assistance, compliance monitoring, and reporting for a portfolio of AmeriCorps programs. Help coordinate partnerships, support reporting and outreach efforts. Disaster Preparedness & Response Coordinator  This position will assist the State Volunteer and Donations Coordinator with duties in the State's Emergency Operations Plan, serves as Secondary Emergency Management Coordinator (EMC) for the State's Emergency Operations Centers, assist in all aspect of the Ready Alabama Preparedness Campaign.
