Meet Nicholas Detter, Science Teacher, serving with Hayes K-8, a service site of the Teach for America Alabama AmeriCorps program.
1. What motivated you to join AmeriCorps?
I was motivated to join AmeriCorps because I wanted to serve as a part of the liberation of all people.
2. What would you like to get out of this service opportunity?
I want to develop deep relationships and meaningful change.
3. What will your service focus on for the 2021-2022 program year?
During this program year, my service will focus on 8th-grade Science Education and Community Building.
4. What are your plans after AmeriCorps?
After my AmeriCorps service year, I want to continue to teach students.

The Main Problem in Crossy Road: Poor Timing and Misjudged Traffic Gaps
One of the biggest problems players face in Crossy Road is misjudging the timing of moving traffic.
At first, crossing roads seems easy. Players see cars moving in patterns and assume they can quickly slip through gaps. However, as the game progresses, several issues appear:
Traffic becomes faster and more unpredictable
Safe-looking gaps close suddenly before the player moves
Vehicles can appear from off-screen without warning
