Meet Kimberly Moore, Tutor, currently serving with the Valley Creek Center, a service site of the Selma AmeriCorps Program.


1. What motivated you to join AmeriCorps? 

I was motivated to join AmeriCorps because I want to learn new skills and gain training in multiple areas. By expanding my skills and knowledge base, I could improve both my life and community.


2. What would you like to get out of this service opportunity?

I want to learn of specific opportunities to better aid with community growth and education. Also, I hope to broaden my social and career networks.


3. What will your service focus on for the 2021-2022 program year?

During this program year, my service will focus on gaining hands-on service experience and life skills. I want to strive to aid community well-being through services that include tutoring, food share, and disaster assistance.


4. What are your plans after AmeriCorps? 

I want to advance my education and training by enrolling in Online courses. Hopefully, these efforts will lead to a career in Business Management.

Her goals of improving social and professional networks also show how service can create long-term opportunities beyond the immediate impact.
