Member Spotlight: Christina Massenburg, AmeriCorps Instructional Support Team Member

Meet Christina Massenburg, serving at Georgiana School, in the AmeriCorps Instructional Support Team.

1. What motivated you to join AmeriCorps? I wanted to serve the kids and help them get through the educational subjects they are struggling with.

2. What would you like to get out of this service opportunity? I want to get as much experience as possible for future jobs and educational pursuits.

3. What will your service focus on for the 2019-2020 program year? I will be providing direct support to economically disadvantaged students in order to improve performance in literacy and/or math as measured by pre- and post-standardized tests to demonstrate improved academic performance.

4. What are your plans after AmeriCorps? I plan to continue college until I get my degree. I also want to become a substitute teacher until I can get my degree.
