Member Spotlight: Morgan Wells, Instructional Aide

Meet Morgan Wells. Morgan serves with the AmeriCorps Instructional Support Team at the McKenzie School.

What motivated you to join AmeriCorps? I was motivated to join AmeriCorps because I wanted to be the kind of role model for someone that I needed when I was younger.

What would you like to get out of this service opportunity? I would like to grow as a person and make a real difference to someone in my community.

What will your service focus on for the 2017-18 program year? providing direct support to economically disadvantaged children in 2nd grade in order to improve performance in literacy and math measured by pre- and post-standardized tests to demonstrate improved academic performance.

What are your plans after AmeriCorps? After AmeriCorps I plan to go to college for teaching so I can continue to be a positive role model in the lives of children.
