Interested in working with the AL State Service Commission?!

We are looking for an (AmeriCorps) Outreach, Engagement, and Training Coordinator and a Disaster Preparedness and Response Coordinator to become a part of our Alabama State Service Commission team!

Both positions are full-time and located in Montgomery, AL, and offer a competitive salary with state benefits including: health insurance, retirement, and annual and sick leave. The Commission is housed in the Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs.

 

We are looking for a highly-motivated, self-starter for the AmeriCorps Outreach, Engagement, and Training Coordinator position. This person will lead or support the development of training content, oversight, and coordination of statewide and local program events/activities, vendor contracts, and logistics associated with trainings, meetings, webinars, and other events; strategize, create, and execute engagement opportunities and activities to generate interest in AL AmeriCorps State funding; cultivate and develop relationships with a variety of organizations throughout Alabama via community outreach while also increasing the awareness of national service and AL AmeriCorps State programs; and manage the agency’s national service social media narrative and website content. Our ideal candidate for the Disaster Preparedness and Response Coordinator will be highly motivated, customer focused, and work well in a team environment. He/she must be able to be a self-starter, solutions-orientated worker with excellent communication (both written and verbal) skills, and proficiency with MS Office applications. This position will assist the State Volunteer and Donations Coordinator with duties in the State’s Emergency Operations Plan, serve as Secondary Emergency Management Coordinator (EMC) for the State’s Emergency Operations Center, assist in all aspects of the Ready Alabama Preparedness Campaign, and other duties as assigned.
