GOVERNOR'S OFFICE OF VOLUNTEER SERVICES

The Governor’s Office of Volunteer Services works to increase an ethic of service and volunteerism in the State of Alabama, by developing and supporting a network of AmeriCorps State programs that place service members in organizations expanding their capacity to meet the state’s greatest needs including education, health care, substance abuse, homelessness, and maintaining a healthy environment.

AMERICORPS IN ALABAMA

ServeAlabama functions as the Alabama Service Commission, responsible for the administrative, fiscal and programmatic oversight, technical assistance and program development for over $2 million in State AmeriCorps programs providing service in all 67 Alabama counties. 

VOLUNTEER AND DONATIONS MANAGEMENT

Serve Alabama serves as the state Voluntary Agency Liaision for faith-based and non-profit groups working in our state before, during and after disasters. We are also the lead agency for Vounteer and Donations Management, providing trainings pre-disaster and state level coordination and support in disaster recovery efforts.
