Member Spotlight: Jacquelyn Craig, Teach for America Alabama AmeriCorps Program

Meet Jacquelyn Craig, a 7th-Grade Life Science Teacher in Putnam Middle School, a service site of the Teach for America Alabama AmeriCorps program.

1. What motivated you to join AmeriCorps?

I was motivated to join AmeriCorps because the program interested me. Also, I knew that I would be a great fit!

2. What would you like to get out of this service opportunity?

I want to increase my students’ self-development and self-confidence. Also, I want to encourage them to set goals for their dreams and develop a Never Give Up outlook!

3. What will your service focus on for the 2021-2022 program year?

My service will focus on developing in my students a deep respect for education.

4. What are your plans after AmeriCorps?

I plan to remain in the Education System of Alabama. I am unsure of what opportunities will be available at that time, but I am ready for anything positive and anything that encourages growth.
