Member Spotlight: Daniel Brown, Teach For America-AL Member


Meet Daniel Brown, 12th Grade Math Teacher, currently serving with Huffman High School, a service site of the Teach For America-AL AmeriCorps program.

1. What motivated you to join AmeriCorps? I joined AmeriCorps to have the opportunity to leverage my skills in my content area to improve my community through teaching those in need.

2. What would you like to get out of this service opportunity? From this opportunity, I aim to have a bettering of my skills as a teacher, as well as a sense of satisfaction in knowing that I made a positive impact on the lives of my kids.

3. What will your service focus on for the 2019-20 program year? During this program year, my service will focus on maximizing student achievement by having them grow 3 points on the ACT.

4. What are your plans after AmeriCorps? After AmeriCorps, I want to continue learning and teaching wherever I live going forward.
