Member Spotlight: Talisa Reaves, AmeriCorps Instructional Support Team Member

Meet Talisa Reaves, currently serving at W.O. Parmer Elementary School, in the AmeriCorps Instructional Support Team.

1. What motivated you to join AmeriCorps? The opportunity to give back to my community by helping children gain self-confidence and strive to meet their goals.

2. What would you like to get out of this service opportunity? I would like to get classroom experience.

3. What will your service focus on for the 2019-2020 program year? I will be providing direct support to economically disadvantaged children in grades K-2 in order to improve performance in literacy and/or math as measured by pre- and post- standardized tests to demonstrate improved academic performance.

4. What are your plans after AmeriCorps? I plan to attend AUM with my education award so I can become a teacher.
