Member Spotlight: Marshall Williams, ANFRC AmeriCorps member

March 13, 2019

Meet Marshall Williams, serving with the Alabama Network of Family Resource Centers AmeriCorps program at Tuscaloosa’s One Place.

What motivated you to join AmeriCorps? I was motivated to join AmeriCorps because I have two older sisters who served in AmeriCorps. After hearing their stories and the differences they made in the community, it fueled me to want to serve as well.

What would you like to get out of this service opportunity? I would like to gain a better sense of community and to gain a new point of view from the people I will be serving. I feel like this will help me when I get into my healthcare profession to better serve those that are under served.

What will your service focus on for the 2018-2019 program year? My service will focus on serving kids in an after school care program in the Tuscaloosa area.

What are your plans after AmeriCorps? After AmeriCorps, I plan to pursue a career in the field of dentistry.

Thank you for your service Marshall!
