Criminal History Check Resources
Under the National and Community Service Act of 1990, as amended by the Serve America Act (SAA), all grantees must conduct National Service Criminal History Checks (NSCHC) on participants and program employees in AmeriCorps, Foster Grandparent, Senior Companion, MLK, 9/11, Volunteer Generation Fund, Social Innovation Fund and any other programs funded by the Corporation under National Service laws.

Evaluation is a powerful tool for improving a program and increasing its ability to serve people more efficiently and effectively. It gives programs an opportunity to test their interventions, adjust services to best meet community needs, and collect data to support their work.

Financial and Grants Management

Organizations need to handle funds wisely. This may include developing written policies and procedures, internal controls, and budget controls. As with all federal grant programs, it is the responsibility of all grantees funded by CNCS to ensure appropriate stewardship of federal funds entrusted to them.
