The mission of the Nonprofit Resource Center of Alabama is: To strengthen and support Alabama nonprofit organizations in serving their communities. 

The Nonprofit Resource Center of Alabama is a membership organization open to any nonprofit [primarily 501(c)3 and 501(c)4] in Alabama. Hundreds of nonprofit organizations around the state are members. Individual and Business memberships are also available. The Resource Center is located in Birmingham, but members can access services from anywhere in the state by telephone, e-mail, online, visits, or participation in programs held in locations throughout Alabama. The Resource Center is Alabama's only centralized source of information, programs and services specifically designed to meet the needs of Alabama's nonprofit community.

The Samaritan Guide
The online Samaritan Guide is a unique new information tool from the Acton Institute's Center for Effective Compassion. No one information source is sufficient for complete program transparency and financial accountability. There are several excellent national charity information resources. However, they either target one very specific dimension of the charity (e.g., finances), or they do not include smaller community or regional programs. Oftentimes, local programs are simply included in the umbrella organization's information, giving little insight to a particular program. The Guide serves to provide specific program details and information to a variety of audiences.
