Valuable Training Opportunities for Members

Training received by members can be used throughout the members’ lifetime, not just while they are engaged as an AmeriCorps member. Program training is guided toward the overall mission and goals of the program. Given the variety of programs that involve AmeriCorps members, the opportunities are extensive.

Examples of the types of training that is available to members are:

• CERT
• CPR
• Life Skills, such as time management, accountability, balancing a budget/checkbook, basic clerical and administrative functions…
• Active Citizenship
• Team Building
• First Aid
• Mass Care
• Environmental preservation
• Home building skills
• Mentoring and tutoring

All training is organized and structured with specific inputs, activities and its expected outputs/outcomes. All training is evaluated for meeting programmatic needs and its overall effectiveness.
