LINC, Inc. AmeriCorps – 20 AmeriCorps
members in a tri-county area will implement the Parent Project; a
research based program to teach necessary skills and provide the
practical and emotional support needed to change destructive behavior in
adolescents that leads to truancy, negative attitudes, substance abuse,
anti-social activities and negative family interaction. Parent Project
works with parents and children who are at risk and have been assigned
through the family court systems and who volunteer for the program
through the school system. In Calhoun County LINC, Inc. administers the
program. In Talladega County SAFE conducts program sessions and in Clay
County it is Project ROLE Model.
