The Alabama Strengthening Communities Project (ASC) assists organizations in overcoming barriers to increase their effectiveness, enhance social services, diversify funding, expand community collaboration, and increase the number and capacity of faith-based and community organizations across the state that serve families and individuals through a strategic assessment, training and technical assistance, sustainability planning, and development of supportive collaborative networks. The Alabama Governor's Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives (GFBCI) will host four Capacity Academies providing trainings based on five critical areas: Organizational Development, Program Development, Leadership Development, Collaboration and Community Engagement, and Evaluation of Effectiveness.
